FUE Protocol
The Nova Medical FUE Protocol is one documented system, refined across the Nova Medical network and followed at our Nashville clinic, built to give patients from across Tennessee natural results that stay consistent over the long term.
The Four Foundations of the Nova Medical FUE Protocol
From the first consultation until your transplanted hair has fully grown, each step follows one data-driven method. It defines how every graft is planned, harvested, implanted and protected, so the outcome looks like your own hair instead of looking like a procedure.
At Nova Medical Hair Transplant Tennessee, this protocol is the backbone of each FUE hair transplant we plan in Nashville. Dr. Dan Hatef, a facial plastic surgeon, oversees and approves every plan before surgery day.
1. Always evolving, reserved for Nova patients. The protocol is never frozen. Each case is reviewed in detail, outcomes are shared across the network, and refinements are folded back in so the next patient gains from every lesson so far. 2. A defined sequence. Planning, harvesting, graft handling, implantation and post-operative protection are all written out step by step, giving the team a clear formula aimed at strong, natural growth.
3. A fully equipped surgical setting. Procedures take place in dedicated surgical rooms with a sterile workflow and current FUE technology, so safety, precision and comfort are designed into the space. 4. A unified, patient-first team. Surgeons, nurses and clinical specialists train to one standard and discuss cases openly. That means consistent outcomes, a genuine bedside manner and an honest, careful evaluation for every patient who walks in.

Stages
Building Your Written Plan
The first stage is a detailed map: your current coverage, where thinning is likely to head next, how much donor hair can safely be used and what you want to see in the mirror. From that we write a plan meant to look right today and still look right in twenty years.
Staged Anesthesia for Comfort
Anesthesia is layered gradually instead of delivered in one round. When you are comfortable you can sit still for a long session, and that steadiness lets the team keep a careful, consistent rhythm.
Precise Follicle Extraction
Follicular units are lifted individually with a fine micro-punch. This is the stage where poorly controlled FUE loses the most grafts, so depth, angle and the gap between extractions are all managed deliberately.
Cold Storage Between Steps
Between extraction and implantation, grafts sit in cold HypoThermosol rather than ordinary saline. Keeping them cool and moist through that interval is one of the main ways the protocol protects graft survival.
Opening the Recipient Sites
Each small incision that will receive a graft follows the angle and direction of your existing hair. These openings decide how natural the finished result looks, so nobody rushes this part.
Natural Graft Placement
The front edge is kept soft and slightly irregular, with thickness increasing further back, the way an untouched hairline grows. Each graft goes into a spot chosen for the long term, not just for the first year of growth.
Nova Medical FUE Protocol Versus Standard FUE
Yes. Nova Medical Hair Transplant Tennessee uses the identical written protocol, graft storage method and aftercare schedule. Dr. Dan Hatef oversees each plan, and patients from across Tennessee, as well as those travelling from other states, can book a consultation by calling (629) 210-3777.
Your Questions About the Protocol
FUE is the name of a technique, not a guarantee of quality, so results under that label vary widely between clinics. The Nova Medical FUE Protocol documents each stage: a written plan per zone, staged anesthesia, micro-punch extraction tuned to your skin, chilled HypoThermosol storage, incisions that follow your natural hair direction and a soft single-hair front edge. Scheduled follow-ups then track your growth after surgery.
Precision runs from planning through to full growth. Personal planning. We assess your current hair, likely future loss, donor capacity and goals, then design a plan that looks natural now and holds up for years. Set roles in the operating room. Surgeons, nurses and technicians each follow a defined workflow, so every graft is handled efficiently and safely. Surgical oversight. Dr. Dan Hatef leads the planning, and directs every hairline and density design. Full resources. Modern FUE tools, dedicated surgical rooms and a focused team support you from start to finish. No. The protocol is built into our regular pricing, not offered as an add-on. Grafts cost $3.99 to $7.99 each, and most procedures land between $4,000 and $15,000. There are no session fees, and 0% financing is available for the first 12 months. Cold graft storage, fine instruments and follow-up visits are all included in that price. Your free assessment ends with a written quote based on the graft count you actually need.
As soon as a graft is harvested it is placed in HypoThermosol FRS, a solution first designed to preserve cells during organ transport, held at 2 to 8°C. Grafts stay on cooled trays and each batch is timed so it is implanted while still in good condition. Room-temperature saline, still common at many clinics, offers far less protection.
Success is judged months and years after the procedure. Guided throughout. We stay in touch from consultation to recovery, so you always know what comes next. Structured aftercare. Written instructions, regular check-ins and growth tracking are part of the protocol to protect your investment. Inclusive evaluation. No one is turned away without a full assessment and an honest discussion of options. Ongoing training. Nurses, clinical specialists and coordinators are updated as the protocol is refined. The recovery guide covers what to expect month by month.
